Dave Harvey - Sovereign Grace Ministries

Dave Harvey is responsible for church care, church planting, and international expansion for Sovereign Grace Ministries. He has served as a member of the Sovereign Grace Ministries leadership team since 1995.

Dave has been in pastoral ministry at Covenant Fellowship Church (Glen Mills, PA) since 1986, was ordained in 1988, and served as senior pastor from 1990 to 2008. He has served on the board of the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation since 2006. Dave received a Master of Arts in Missiology from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1989, worked toward a Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1993 to 1995, and in 2001 became a graduate in Westminster’s D.Min. program. The subject of his doctoral thesis was the identification and equipping of church planters.

Dave contributed a chapter to Worldliness: Resisting the Seduction of a Fallen World (Crossway, 2008). He is also the author of When Sinners Say “I Do”: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage (Shepherd, 2007) and of three booklets in the Sovereign Grace Perspectives series: “Missiology: Entering the Field of the Lord”; “Am I Called? Discerning the Summons to Ministry”; and “Polity: Serving and Leading the Local Church.” Dave also wrote a chapter for Why Small Groups?, a book from Sovereign Grace’s Pursuit of Godliness series. Dave is currently putting the subject of this conference into book form, which will be published by Crossway Books and Bibles next Spring.

Mickey Connolly Workshop: Rescuing Ambition - Married Men
Speaker: Mickey Connolly

Mickey is 59 years old and serves as the senior pastor of Crossway Community Church (Charlotte, NC). In October he will celebrate 25 years in pastoral ministry, and in August he will celebrate 13 years at Crossway. Mickey also supports Gene as a member of the Mid-Atlantic "Regional Team."

He and his wife, Jane, have three children. Besides his family, Mickey prizes his physical education degree and time for fishing.

When asked about his theological training, Mickey says, “I once drove by a seminary.”

Speaker: Eric Hughes

Eric has spent the last year at Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors College. He is returning this summer to Sovereign Grace Church (Chesapeake, VA) where he will serve as the Senior Pastor beginning in August. Prior to attending the Pastors College Eric served on staff as a pastor at Sovereign Grace Church for a dozen years.

Eric and his wife Marie have two sons and two daughters. Eric has the rare combination of both musical and athletic gifting. His musical exploits have included a couple of CDs and fronting the New Attitude Band for a season.

Speaker: Bruce Chick

Bruce is the Senior Pastor of Sovereign Grace Community Church in Roanoke, VA. He graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando before attending the Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors College (which qualifies him to teach a couple of Old Testament courses at the PC each year since.)

Bruce also supports Gene by serving on the Mid-Atlantic "Regional Team" and by overseeing ordination testing for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Bruce and his wife Hein (pronounced "Hen") have a bunch of kids.

Bruce is tall (6-4) and still somewhat athletic. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1990 and played several years in the minors before his big break at RTS.

Joe is a Pastor at Crossway Community Church (Charlotte, NC) and has worked with the campus ministry for the last 8 years. He leads Mission 28, the 18-25 year old ministry at Crossway. Joe has served at Crossway since graduating from the Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors' College in 2001. Joe and his wife, Jeanie, married in 2002 and have 2 children.
